These are just the essentials to keep you warm, dry and protected on the mountain.

1. Snowboard/Bindings

Obviously you’ll need a board to get down the mountain. However, you want to make sure that board is set up for you! Measure your stance and adjust the bindings until you feel comfortable.

2. Snowboard Boots

Snowboard boots are for sure something you don’t want to skimp on when purchasing. You likely will be wearing them all day so again you want to be comfortable and warm! Think of these as an investment too, I’ve had my snowboard boots for 14 years and just now am looking to purchase some new ones. If you are still unsure, you could always rent or demo different brands from your local ski/board shop.

3. Snowboard Jacket

A snowboard jacket not only provides warmth on the mountain, but also keeps you dry! Also try to find one with plenty of pockets as storage is key! Still unsure where to start? Check out this review on the Women’s DC Riji Snowboard Jacket Review.

4. Snowboard Pants

One could argue that snowboard pants are one of the most essential pieces of snowboard gear! More than likely, you will be sitting in some snow or water either up on the mountain, the ski lift, or the lodge patio. Regardless snowboard pants keep you warm and dry. There are tons of styles and different levels of warmth. Typically a 10K rated pant will be suitable for the season.

8. Gloves

Gloves are nice to keep the chill off and obviously keep your hand warm and dry! If your hands normally run colder, I would suggest a mitten and the friction of your fingers provides more warmth inside the glove, however gloves with individual fingers are definitely more functional. My favorite are the mittens with an inner fleece glove, best of both worlds!

Packing for a snowboard trip can be daunting, especially if it’s your first time snowboarding! Hopefully these 15 snowboard trip packing list items make it easy to ensure you have the essentials! More important than remembering everything on a snowboard trip packing list… Have fun!! Get outside and enjoy the fresh mountain air!
