Top 4 Best Cordless Vacuums

When searching for a cordless vacuum there are a few things to consider such as battery life, suction power, floor type and vacuum weight. We’ll go through the top 4 cordless vacuums to help you narrow it down!

1. DYSON V8 ANIMAL CORDLESS STICK VACUUM CLEANER

Dyson V8 Animal Cordless Vacuum
  • Battery Life: Up to 40 minutes
  • Floor Type: Carpets and hard floors
  • Weight: 5.64lbs
  • Transforms to Handheld: Yes
  • Star Rating: 4.5

Ranging all the way up to $799, Dyson Cordless vacuums are definitely on the premium end, but if you can afford it, they are absolutely worth the investment.

They are lightweight easy to charge and feature powerful suction for the dirt packed in to carpet! Each includes a wall mount with charging cord which makes it perfect to store away, but easy to access when you need it! One amazing feature is the range of motion, you can easily reach under and around tables, chairs and couches, as well the short height of the brush head fits easily under kitchen cabinets or low sitting furniture.

Dyson makes a range of cordless vacuums varying in features and have easily become a go-to for many consumers.

2. SHARK ION F80 LIGHTWEIGHT CORDLESS STICK VACUUM WITH MULTIFLEX

Shark ION F80 Lightweight Cordless Vacuum
  • Battery Life: 80 minutes with 2 batteries
  • Floor Type: Carpets and hard floors
  • Weight: 8.7lbs
  • Star Rating: 4.3

This Shark Cordless Vacuum offers powerful cordless suction for everyday dirt, debris, pet hair, and high traffic areas

The MultiFLEX design allows you to get under low furniture without having to bend down as well compact storage. The top half folds down over the front making it easy to store this cordless vacuum in a hall closet or tall cabinet.

I don’t love the idea of having to switch batteries to get the full 80 min of runtime, however if you plan to or need to vacuum for 80 min then I guess switching out a battery mid-way would be better than having to wait for the battery to recharge.

My mother-in-law has a stand-up Shark vacuum (with cord) and one of my favorite features of the Shark vacuums, outside of the suction, is the soft brush or roller at the front. This Duoclean technology is perfect for catching the small particle dust on hard flooring! I trust the vacuum could pick this up with suction alone, but it’s almost like taking a microfiber towel to the floor, making it one less step to get those floors clean!

If you’re looking for a lot of the same features, but not ready to cross the $300 mark for a cordless vacuum, the Shark ION Lightweight Cordless Stick MultiFLEX is another great option at $249!

3. TINECO A11 HERO CORDLESS LIGHTWEIGHT STICK VACUUM CLEANER

Tineco A11 Hero Cordless Vacuum
  • Battery Life: Up to 40 minutes
  • Floor Type: Carpets and hard floors
  • Weight: 5.5lbs
  • Transforms to Handheld: Yes
  • Star Rating: 4.3

Tineco is a brand on the rise, and rightfully so! With over 4,300 reviews, this A11 Hero has quite a few of the same features as similar Dyson and Shark cordless vacuums, plus a few more! A prime example; most vacuums have a filtration system, but this one features a 4-Stage fully sealed HEPA filtration system that helps to capture fine dust and particles!

It easily converts to a handled vacuum and comes with multiple attachments for cleaning those hard to reach places, tight corners, blinds and furniture to name a few. As well, the Tienco A11 Hero Cordless Vacuum has is a light on the brush head! While I can assume most of us aren’t vacuuming in the dark, I’ve typically only seen this on corded vacuums, so it’s a nice treat and helps to spot fine dust or pet hair!

If you’re looking for a competitive alternative to the Dyson or Shark cordless vacuums, look no further, this Tineco A11 Hero is a perfect choice and the best part is, the price

4. DYSON V7 MOTORHEAD CORDLESS STICK VACUUM CLEANER

Dyson V7 Motorhead Cordless Vacuum
  • Battery Life: Up to 30 minutes
  • Floor Type: Carpets and hard floors
  • Weight: 5.3lbs
  • Transforms to Handheld: Yes
  • Star Rating: 4.4

Similar to the Dyson V8 Cordless Stick Vacuum, the Dyson V7 is one of the lightest of the the top 5 cordless vacuums presented here, at 5.3lbs, but still offers strong suction on both hard floors and carpets.

Something to keep in mind with run time, it’s often dependent on the attachment you are using and the power mode you use it on. For example, if you were to use the upright attachment (your typical use) on MAX power mode, the battery will only last about 6 minutes. Newer models like the V8 feature a low battery warning, where as the V7 just runs out. I guess i’d rather have a warning, but for quick clean ups it shouldn’t be a problem as you’ll likely get more of the 30min run time when you aren’t using the MAX power mode.

All-in-all, I would say the Dyson V7 cordless vacuum is perfect for smaller homes (900-1,500 sq.ft.) or for quick clean ups in larger spaces.

With so many choices on the market for cordless vacuums, hopefully this helped to guide your decision! Don’t forget to look at battery life, suction power, floor type and vacuum weight as you’re browsing around.
